Diff'rent Strokes (1978-1986)
Silver Spoons (1982-1986)
David Letterman once told the following joke: If Ricky Schroder and Gary Coleman got into a fight, who would win? A.) Gary Coleman, B.) Ricky Schroder or C.) The American viewing public?
Well they never came to blows but the closest we ever got to that scenario was when Gary Coleman playing his character of Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes did come over to visit Ricky Schroder's character Ricky on the show Silver Spoons.
Quick recap on both shows for the culturally impaired. Diff'rent strokes was the story two black kids adopted by a rich white guy, Mr. Drummond. Silver Spoons was the story of a young but mature kid being raised by his rich father who was basically just a big kid. Both shows fell into the same basic sitcom mold.
The plot of the crossover had Arnold appearing on Silver Spoons. He came over to Rick's house to do a story on him for his school newspaper. While they are goofing around together Ricky, apparently quite the uber hacker, broke into a government file and brought up schematics for a top secret government jet. Arnold of course promptly printed these in his school paper, government agents showed up and, well, needless to say, hilarity ensued.Other Diff'rent Strokes Crossover Links
